Whereas Google's company motto of 'don't be evil' is probably more of a perverse joke now it has sold itself to Wall Street, it's hard to deny that it tries very hard, and normally succeeds, in developing excellent software.
What seems to set Google apart from its competition, notably Microsoft, is that it concentrates on the usability of its products.
Case in point is Google's relatively new browser software, Chrome. Browser software is the program used to view the internet, and most people use Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) only because it comes bundled with the Windows operating system.
Personally I dumped IE a long time ago in favour of Mozilla's Firefox but have recently switched to Chrome, for the following reasons -
