An Excellent & Really Simple Credit Card Anti-Fraud Trick

This one is a simple and quick method to add a pretty good safeguard to your Credit Card.

Firstly, this is a fraud problem that could occur -

  • Anytime your credit card is out of your site skulduggery can happen
  • For example, you're in a restaurant ask for the bill and then give your credit card to the waiter who takes it away for processing
  • What the waiter then does is quickly copy down the name on the card, the card number AND very importantly the 3 digits on the back
  • The waiter will normally sell this information on to Credit Card gangs who will pay far more because the data contains the all important 3 digits on the back
  • These 3 digits are put in by the Credit Card Company as extra safeguard and are pretty effective
  • You only need to quote the 3 numbers on the back when you use your card on the phone or internet
  • But when you pay for things in person the 3 digits are not necessary either for you or the retail outlet/restaurant

This Is The Anti fraud Trick

  • Get some good quality masking tape and place a small piece over the 3 digits on the back of the card
  • Now, if/when somebody tampers with the tape it will be impossible not to notice and you can straight away call your Credit Card Company to stop future payments
