Free Software & Websites We Like

15 Minute Disposable Email Addresses

Our email addresses are often important to us so we don't like giving them out for unnecessary or one off tasks but unfortunately we are sometimes forced to.

GuerrillaMail.com is a great service which offers you a free email address that's just good for just 15 mins. I've tested it out and it's simple and effective for both reading and replying to emails. No need to sign up to the service either.

Free Financial Data

Many market operators love charts, systems and trading strategies but for research purposes you need good quality historical data.

Here's a free Excel macro that sources data from Yahoo Finance. However, I would think that people looking to use it need a fair amount of computer know to get it working properly.

Free Laptop Alarm

If you use your Notebook PC in a public place but aren't always in front of it and are worried about it being stolen then this free alarm software looks useful.

You can set it up so an audible alarm is set off when either the power supply is removed, the mouse moves, or the screen is closed. Of course, it won't guarantee that your laptop won't be stolen but it should add to your overall security.

Trace Old Bank Accounts

This is a new service (we believe) that offers the potential for tracing old bank or building society accounts. At present it covers 42 banks and 59 Building Societies, as well as NS&I products (National Savings) and Premium Bonds.

A good way to use this would be on behalf of older relations because in my experience many of them have bits of money all over the place, often in accounts that they themselves had forgotten about.

We hope you enjoy this month's newsletter.
