FAQ Page 1 - Question 07

Q: I always get the feeling that my Spread Betting company knows which way I want to deal and therefore alters their quote. Am I right?

A: No, but this is a common question amongst spread betters. Believe me a Spread Betting company has far more integrity than try to pinch ticks from its clients'.

Remember though, when you call up for a quote you don't have to tell them who you are, so in essence how will they know your position?

For example, you are long £5 a point of the FTSE and you call your spread bet broker, instead of first telling him who you are, you ask for a quote and then you deal. Only after dealing do you have to tell him who you are and what your account number is.
