FAQ Page 3 - Question 33

Q: I want to start spread betting on the US markets, which index is the best to trade?

A: At the moment (January 2004) I'd say the Dow Jones index for two reasons. Firstly most people are aware of it (it's the one that appears most on TV and in the papers etc), and secondly it still has an average range (hi-low) of 50-100 points so meaning there's some meat to get hold of. Put this is perspective with the Nasdaq 100 which is trading at 1550 and only has average high-low daily range of around 20 points.
